Michigan welcomes PBI!

May 12 witnessed PBI's first conference in the State of Michigan. The event was held in Novi Civic Center. It was attended by many Iraqi professionals from all over the state, Illinois and Canada. The event was a great success in terms of getting connected with a group of highly educated Iraqi individuals in that part of the country. The event was engaging and provided good understanding of potential future projects and ideas for collaboration between PBI and the community of Iraqi professionals. It highlighted on two topics. One was the major obstacles related to Iraq's reconstruction in Mosul city and how it is imperative to implement a more comprehensive and scientific approach to achieve better and sustainable results. The second topic was how to provide a platform of academic advisers to support university scholars throughout their research process. This topic revealed the obstacles which are adversely affecting the quality of performance due to the present bureaucratic processes in the Iraqi higher education system and the challenges that the Iraqi government faces due political corruption.
